Pato and Pirlo drill home a goal each but Milan’s defense lets the team down
Milan have been knocked our of the UEFA Cup after leading 2-0 most of the game. A penalty was given early after a handball was given inside the box after a Beckham free kick. Pirlo made no mistake and put Milan in the lead in the 26th minute. Then in the 33rd minute Pato made it 2-0 with a magnificent goal from outside the box. It was an excellent solo performance from Pato and he struck the ball extremely hard giving the Bremen keeper no chance whatsoever.
Although Milan were up 2-0, Werder Bremen dominated most of the game and they continued to attack in the second half. A Bremen goal was inevitable as Pizzaro found the back of the net in the 68th minute with a brilliant header. He then found the back of the net again with a header in the 79th minute. A ordinary and tired Milan did not look like scoring after being made to defend most of the game. The game ended 2-2 with Bremen winning with their away goals.
