Pato, Ambrosini and Kaka score to edge closer to Inter

Inter only gained 1 point this weekend whilst Juventus suffered their second lost making the Scudetto title race tighter then ever. We knew we had to win tonight to move into second spot and to remain only 6 points behing Inter.

Milan started the game strong with Jankulovski looking every active after returning from suspension but it was Pato who scored first after a nice feed from Beckkham at the 41st minute. A couple of minutes later, Pato looked like he had scored his second but the goal was disallowed as he was offside.

In the second half Milan made sure that they did not repeat last weeks performance against Genoa and continued to attack and it didn’t take long before Milan scored again. This time it was Ambrosini who headed the end of a Beckham free kick giving Milan a convincing 2-0 lead. With Milan growing in confidence, Lazio were on the back foot but they did not give up and had a few chances but were denied by Abbiati who made some important saves to keep Milan in front.

Pato and Kaka had some chances to extend the lead after only having the keeper to beat but their first touches were too heavy giving the Lazio keeper a chance to deny the Brazilian stars. However, it was not long till Kaka found the back of the net at the 83rd minute and this time Kaka made no mistakes in beating the keeper.

It was an excellent game for Milan and will help boost Milan’s confidence. They now sit second on the ladder and will face Inter in two weeks.
