Dunga excludes Pato from Squad to face England and Oman

Dunga has surprisingly excluded Alexandre Pato from the Brazilian squad, as they take on England in Bahrain and then Oman three days later.  Pato has scored nearly every game since his remarkable performance at the Bernabeu but Dunga has favoured Porto striker Hulk to take his place.

Even when Dunga did choose to add Pato to the squad, he rarely used him. It obviously isn’t a question of form with Dunga, as Pato has been in great form with AC Milan and still he has not been given a place on Dunga’s list.

Here’s the list of players selected,

Defenders: Maicon (Inter), Lucio (Inter), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Luisao (Benfica), Juan (AS Roma), Naldo (Werder Bremen), Fabio Aurelio (Liverpool)

Midfielders: Michel Bastos (Olympique Lyon), Gilberto Silva (Panathinaikos), Josue (VfL Wolfsburg), Lucas (Liverpool), Felipe Melo (Juventus), Alex (Chelsea), Julio Baptista (AS Roma), Carlos Eduardo (TSG Hoffenheim), Ramires (Benfica), Elano (Galatasaray), Kaka (Real Madrid)

Attackers: Robinho (Manchester City), Luis Fabiano (Sevilla), Nilmar (Villarreal), Hulk (FC Porto)

    I do not understand what Dunga could be thinking! Pato is more than qualified to be able to play for Brazil, and he needs playing time so that he can build team chemistry! I wonder if there is something more to the story as to why Dunga did not choose Pato? Does Dunga hate Pato for some Reason?

    First player to score on Brazil debut since Pele (more than 30years ago!). scored on unofficial debut for milan, scored on official debut for milan, seen as the best “new” thing in football, in form current leading scorer for a resurgent milan side…

    Pato’s got nothing more to prove. I think he shd just continue playin well. He will surely go to the world cup. Fabiano’s to him as Careca was to Bebeto in Italia ’90 and Romario was to Ronaldo in USA ’94. His time will come – he is the future of Brazil, future of milan, future of football!

    Dunga is soooo stupid Pato is my favorite player what are u thinking dunga whats the use of having a good player if hes not being used!!!!!!!!!!!

    Dunga is an idiot…can’t believe half the players he has chosen. This is a complete joke…where’s the flare in the Brazilian Football Team!!!!
