The good news is that Alexandre Pato will be fit to play today against Catania.  However, Milan are still faced with injury problems as Ronaldinho is now out for the game today. The superstar suffered a muscle problem during the final training and has not been included in the squad.

Other injury’s include, Andrea Pirlo, Filippo Inzaghi, Clarence Seedorf, Daniele Bonera, Alessandro Nesta and Marco Borriello. Massimo Ambrosini and Daniele Bonera.

Milan need to win today if they want to compete for the Serie A title as they are 9 points behind Inter.

Alexandre Pato

AC Milan have moved ahead of Inter in third place as they beat Siena at home last night. A goal from Inzaghi and Kaka sealed a game that could have gone either way.

Alexandre Pato had his first start after a couple of games on the bench. Pato nealy scored but his strike hit the post.

Milan face Napoli at home next. Ronaldinho will be available for that game give Ancelotti another option upfront.

Pato and Ronaldinho in the Olympics

Pato only managed to score one goal in his Olympic campaign but it has given him and Ronaldinho great preparation for the Seria A start next week.

“I see Ronaldinho every day,” Pato told the Corriere dello Sport.

“He is a phenomenon. He is working and after these thirty days I can say: he has worked hard.

“He has always been on the field both before and during the Olympics.

“Ronaldinho is back. He will have a great year in Italy and he will make Milan great.”

Pato is extremely confident going into the new season with his club, and he has no doubts that the Rossoneri will win the Scudetto.

“Milan this year are very strong,” he stated.

“I am sure we will win the championship.

“I am not saying we will be among the top teams - I am saying we will actually win the Scudetto.”

Milan have made a number of impressive signings this summer, including Mathieu Flamini, Gianluca Zambrotta, Marco Borriello,a nd of course Ronaldinho.
